If you hike or drive on Jebel Akhdar or Jebel Shams, note the nearest health centres and Nizwa Hospital. Call 9999 in an emergency; the Royal Oman Police also run air rescue.

Private options
Nizwa has private clinics and a Badr Al Samaa hospital for routine care.
